In the Asheville Marathon, held on the grounds at Biltmore Estate, runners will explore 26.2 miles through America’s Largest Backyard. Inaugural Asheville Marathoners will wind through paved roads to see hardwood forest, meadows, gardens, and will see extraordinary views of the Biltmore House and the estate. Undeniable beauty comes with a price. With the European-style formal gardens left in your wake, you will move into a much different passageway, encompassed by untamed foliage and less civilized terrain. The wild side of Biltmore: Where few eyes have seen… Where few feet have trod… a different kind of Biltmore experience awaits.
While other marathons present you with monotonous scenes of asphalt, steel, and glass, the 26 miles in and around Biltmore provide much more depth and diversification: from the manmade marvels of gardening and architecture that is the Estate itself, to lesser tamed, more challenging stretches that lie on its borders and along the French Broad.
Hope to see you there! #TeamRedFox
